Brazilian court opens clarification review in overseas-adoption nationality case
The virtual review began on 30 October; it does not establish a change to the underlying nationality ruling.
Brazil’s Federal Supreme Court docket records the opening of virtual consideration of clarification motions in RE 1163774 on 30 October, scheduled through 10 November. The federal Attorney General’s Office filed the motions on 19 October; the hearing schedule was published on 22 October.[1]
The underlying 12 March judgment recognised original Brazilian nationality for a person born abroad, adopted by a Brazilian national and registered with the competent consular authority. The judgment was published on 30 September.[1][2]
No final outcome of the clarification proceedings was verified in this check. Opening the review does not establish that the ruling has been reversed, suspended or changed, and creates no investment-citizenship route.[1]
