The ministry reports an initial administrative step and progress on renewal backlogs, while nationwide automation and tax-number integration remain qualified plans.
The 4 November notice identifies covered property schemes, card payment and the required form. EDB dates the charge to 1 October, with applicants and dependants paying individually.

Arrivals from 1 November 2026 generally return to a 12-month limit for driving on an overseas car licence. Earlier arrivals may retain 18 months, while a New Zealand licence with a supervisor condition changes the position sooner.
An applicant may change licensed agent at any time. The Agency’s receipt of the prescribed notice ends the former agent’s authority to communicate with it on the applicant’s behalf. The file, outstanding obligations and any licence surrender need separate attention.
A qualifying property price does not establish how much counts towards New CIES. Net equity, the residential sub-cap and the overall property cap determine the recognised amount and the investment still required.
