Canada extends targeted Haiti and Sudan work-permit measures with standard fees

Eligibility is limited to qualifying holders of valid work permits issued under the previous temporary measures.

Canada · Targeted extension announced

IRCC announced a targeted extension of its Haiti and Sudan measures on 27 October, when the previous measures were due to expire. Eligible people in Canada holding valid work permits issued under those measures may apply to extend them, paying standard processing fees. The extended measures expire on 30 December 2027.[1]

This is not a new work-permit or permanent-residence route for all Haitian or Sudanese nationals. People seeking to extend visitor status or study permits must use IRCC’s existing channels.[1]
