Malaysia moves study and 2nd-work-location permissions to ESD Online

Eligible Employment Pass holders and dependant spouses can use the expanded study-permission service; paper submissions cease for the affected services.

Malaysia · Affected applications move online

In a 22 October notice, Malaysia’s ESD said Employment Pass holders’ Permission to Study applications and Permission to Work at a Second Location would move to ESD Online’s Sub-Product menu from 1 November. Within the Dependent Pass category, the online study application service is being extended from Employment Pass holders’ children to their spouses.[1]

Immigration and MYXpats Centre counters will no longer accept paper submissions for these services. Access to the online application does not itself grant study or 2nd-location work permission.[1]
