Mauritius EDB sets out payment requirements for US$50 property-residence application fee

The 4 November notice identifies covered property schemes, card payment and the required form. EDB dates the charge to 1 October, with applicants and dependants paying individually.

Mauritius · Payment notice

Mauritius’s Economic Development Board (EDB) issued a payment notice on 4 November explaining a non-refundable US$50 processing charge for residence applications under specified property schemes. The main applicant and each dependant pay separately. EDB states that the charge applies from 1 October 2026.[1][2]

The notice covers the Integrated Resort Scheme (IRS), Real Estate Scheme (RES), Invest Hotel Scheme (IHS), Property Development Scheme (PDS), including senior-living projects, the Smart City Scheme (SCS), and G+2 apartment purchases under the Non-Citizens (Property Restriction) Act.[1]

Payment must be by card at the cashier in EDB’s Ebene office, and applications must include the completed Residence Permit Application Payment Form, marked October 2026, Version 1.0. The notice does not explain the full transition for cases lodged before 1 October or extend the charge to every residence-permit category.[1][2]
