Peru grants 90-day legislative powers covering migration and nationality
Law 32743, published on 22 October, delegates reform powers; the authorisation is not itself a change to applicant eligibility.
Peru published Law 32743 on 22 October, authorising the executive to legislate on specified matters, including migration and nationality, for 90 calendar days from the law’s commencement.[1][2]
Article 2.1.1 covers identity and document checks, migration procedures, information sharing and fraud prevention in acquiring or recovering nationality. It also requires respect for due procedure, defence rights, family unity, children’s best interests, non-discrimination and personal-data protection.[1]
The verified event is the October delegation of legislative powers. It does not by itself establish new residence or naturalisation eligibility; specific reforms under the delegation must be checked against subsequently published legislative decrees.[1]
