Poland confirms deemed filing date for certain residence applications after MOS outage

A defined group whose lawful stay ended on 27 October and who applied through MOS from 28 October to 2 November receives confirmation of filing-date protection.

Poland · Filing-date relief for specified cases

In a notice dated 3 November, Poland’s Office for Foreigners confirmed that a technical outage prevented applications through the MOS portal on 27–28 October. The authority explained how article 225c(1) of the Foreigners Act applies to the filing date of affected applications.[1]

Applications submitted through MOS from 28 October to 2 November 2026 by foreigners whose final day of lawful stay in Poland would have been 27 October are treated as filed on 27 October. The notice covers temporary residence, permanent residence and EU long-term resident permits.[1]

This confirmation remains relevant when checking whether an existing application was timely. It is limited to the stated cohort, submission channel and dates. The 3 November notice does not announce a further filing window or approve a residence permit, and other applications cannot automatically use the same treatment.[1]
