Saudi Arabia opens a two-month status-correction window for eligible Yemeni workers
HRSD’s 11 October announcement covers eligible Yemeni workers with expired residence permits or absence reports, subject to valid travel documents and applicable procedures.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced on 11 October 2026 that status-correction procedures had started nationwide for Yemeni nationals covered by the relevant directives. The two-month window includes workers with expired residence permits and those reported absent from work, subject to valid travel documents and the applicable rules.[1]
Eligible workers can transfer to employers needing their services through Qiwa for professional workers or Musaned for domestic workers, integrated with Absher. Absence reports can be cancelled through the prescribed process as part of a transfer. The announcement does not grant automatic residence to all Yemeni nationals or give a specific closing date.[1]
