St Kitts and Nevis passes diaspora citizenship bill; opening remains conditional

The 23 October reform would expand citizenship registration for certain adult descendants born abroad. The proposed 2 November opening was conditional on regulations.

St Kitts and Nevis · Passed by Parliament; application opening not confirmed

The St Kitts and Nevis Information Service confirmed on 23 October that Parliament had passed the 2026 Citizenship Amendment Bill, creating a proposed registration route for certain adult descendants born abroad.[1]

The announcement covers adults born abroad on or after 19 September 1983 whose parent or grandparent became a citizen at independence. This is an ancestry-based reform, not a new investment route.[1]

The government proposed opening applications on 2 November, expressly subject to the necessary regulations. That announcement alone does not confirm that applications have opened; applicants should check the competent ministry’s subsequent instructions.[1][2]
