UK updates religious work sponsorship guidance and transition rules
The 29 October guidance implements HC584 changes for new applications.
UKVI’s 29 October sponsor guidance implements the HC 584 reforms published on 3 September. For entry-clearance or permission-to-stay applications submitted from 29 October, it removes the Minister of Religion route’s 6-year maximum and replaces the Religious Worker resident labour consideration with new role conditions.[1][2]
For workers legally exempt from minimum wage entitlement, A-rated sponsors must certify maintenance and accommodation throughout permission, including relevant dependants. If an earlier certificate is used for an application from 29 October, a sponsor note confirming this commitment is mandatory. New role conditions may also require a note.[1]
