Global Talent endorsement refused: how to request a review
Distinguish an error in the original assessment from a case that needs new evidence before choosing a review or a fresh application.
Endorsement review addresses errors in the original assessment and accepts no new evidence. The current form requires submission within 28 calendar days of the refusal email being sent. Review does not extend immigration permission.
If a Global Talent stage-one endorsement is refused, a free endorsement review can address an alleged error in assessing the original application. It is a check of that decision, rather than a fresh evidence round or a statutory appeal against a visa refusal.[1]
Submit within 28 calendar days
The September 2025 form requires the request within 28 calendar days of the Home Office sending the refusal email. Use the current form and its submission instructions, and keep proof of sending.[2] Do not leave the reasoning until the final day.
The published aim is usually to reply within 28 days, with notification if more time is needed. This is a processing target, not a guaranteed decision date.[1]
Identify an error using the original evidence
Connect each disputed refusal reason to material already submitted. Identify the document and page, explain its relevance to the criterion, and state what appears to have been overlooked or applied incorrectly. A general disagreement or a repeat of the whole application is less useful than a precise explanation.
No new evidence or new grounds for endorsement can be introduced. If the case depends on another recommendation, an omitted document or an achievement gained since applying, a fresh endorsement application with the relevant fee may be appropriate.[1][2] It will receive its own assessment.
Review does not extend permission to stay
A pending endorsement review does not extend existing UK immigration permission.[1] Anyone in the UK should separately check the expiry of their permission and any other lawful basis to remain.
Normally there is one review per refusal decision. If the revised decision introduces new refusal reasons, the guidance permits a further review limited to those new reasons. That exception does not allow repeated challenges to the same grounds.[1][3]
A useful drafting structure is: refusal reason, location of the original evidence, and alleged assessment error. It also helps distinguish a reviewable issue from an application that needs rebuilding.
