Canada implements Express Entry job-offer changes and recalculates profiles
IRCC confirms the 3 November changes are in operation. Invitations are paused during recalculation, while program eligibility and CRS job-offer points remain separate.
IRCC’s job-offer guidance updated on 3 November confirms the new requirements are in operation. The previously announced high-wage points changes take effect the same day. Qualifying offers attract 50, 70 or 100 CRS points. Candidates receive the higher of their eligible Canadian work-experience or job-offer scores, not both.[2][3][4]
The high-wage classification depends on occupation-wide NOC wage data, not an applicant’s individual salary. Qualifying offers no longer require an LMIA, but officers must still assess whether they are genuine. Eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker and Federal Skilled Trades programs remains separate from eligibility for CRS job-offer points. The temporary public-policy exemption from LMIA-related conditions for these two programs applies to candidates invited on or after 3 November 2026 who meet its conditions, not automatically to earlier invitees.[1][2][3][4]
IRCC now confirms the system is recalculating existing profiles, which could take up to 2 weeks. Invitation rounds are paused during that process and resume when it is complete. Temporary profile-entry instructions apply to offers without an LMIA. Additional points do not guarantee an invitation or permanent residence.[2][4]
