Germany schedules debate on a six-week skilled-visa proposal

Motion 21/6346 is scheduled for committee referral, not implementation.

Germany · Motion referred to committee

A Bundestag agenda article dated 19 October schedules debate on Green Party Motion 21/6346 for 4 November, followed by intended referral to committees led by the Interior Committee. The motion itself is dated 9 June; it is not a newly introduced November proposal.[1][2]

It calls for a fully digital skilled-worker fast visa with a maximum six-week processing period, faster recognition of foreign qualifications, and closer coordination of skilled-worker and family-reunification applications. These are policy requests to the government. A scheduled debate and intended committee referral do not mean the motion has passed or visa rules have changed, and do not guarantee a visa within six weeks.[1][2]

Update, 4 November 2026: Motion 21/6346 was referred to the lead Interior Committee; this does not implement its proposed six-week skilled-worker fast visa.[1]
