Lithuania ends residence and national-visa intake at centres in 4 countries
The 1 November change concerns overseas residence and national-visa intake, separate from in-country filing rules.
A Lithuanian Foreign Ministry announcement published on 1 October and updated on 2 October says VFS Global centres in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina stop accepting temporary-residence and national D-visa applications from 1 November. Citizens and permanent residents concerned must use centres listed by the Migration Department.[1][2]
Schengen-visa intake continues in the first 3 countries. Short-stay Schengen visas are not a substitute for the procedures required for long-term study or work in Lithuania. The notice does not make the same Schengen-intake statement for Bosnia and Herzegovina.[1]
