An online appointment is one stage of the process; original documents still need attention.

The Saint Lucia embassy in Taipei publishes renewal instructions specifically for citizens by investment, including online appointments and original-document submission for people outside Taiwan.[2] Confirm that it can accept your residence location and circumstances before proceeding.

Start with the scan check

The instructions request a signed application, the data page of an expired or nearly expired passport, a birth certificate and a local identity-document copy. After verification, an in-person appointment is arranged for Taiwan residents; applicants elsewhere can be offered an online appointment.[2]

At that stage, explain how citizenship was acquired, when the passport expires and whether travel is approaching. The availability of an online appointment does not mean that uploading documents completes renewal.

Include the citizenship record in the review

The embassy’s general e-passport guide specifically requires the registration certificate for citizenship-by-investment passport holders. It also explains that applicable originals are returned with the new passport.[3] Read that guide alongside the shorter CBI instructions rather than treating either list as the whole file.

The CBI instructions call for the old passport, signed form, original birth certificate and two matching photographs; overseas applicants are directed to submit originals by registered mail.[2] Keep scans and tracking records, and confirm the delivery and return arrangements before posting.

Separate shipping from issuance

The embassy’s current consular page warns of significant passport-processing delays in Saint Lucia.[1] Its CBI instructions do not promise an exact completion time and distinguish batch shipping from separately funded dispatch.[2]

Separate shipping changes transport arrangements; it does not establish priority in assessment or production. The public documents do not state shipping charges consistently, so this article does not construct a fixed worldwide total. Obtain current payment instructions for the actual application.

Plan for the period without the old passport

The timetable includes verification, the appointment, outward postage, processing and return delivery. Travel while the old passport is away needs its own assessment against the documents available and the destination’s requirements.

This article addresses the Taipei embassy’s published route. Other missions can have different arrangements; a more direct service in the applicant’s place of residence may also be worth checking.
